Cade York's Missed Game-Winning Field Goal Had Browns Owner Jimmy Haslam In Shambles
Ahh, Jimmy is getting a taste of what it's like to be a Browns fan. That's twice now where he's walked his rich ass out onto the field at the end of the game because he thought we were going to win, only to have to get fans taking videos of his dismay as he heads back to his private jet. But my question is this: what'd you think you were getting into when you bought this team, Jimmy? You're sick of them after 10 years....think about those of us that have known them our entire lives.
I must admit though, I did not think it was possible for people that are worth $4.7 BILLION dollars to get this distraught.
My guy, go take a beach vacation to the islands and take your mind off football. The rest of us have to wake up today and turn into sportstalk radio because that's all we have in our lives. You have 4.7 billion reasons to not care.
That look on his face certainly says something though, I'm just not sure what it is yet. Does it say that the Defensive Coordinator needs to be fired before supper time? Apparently not. Does it say that the Head Coach needs to stop throwing the ball inside the 5 yard line when he has the best running game in the league at his disposal? Hopefully. Or does it say that our kicker, the guy we spent a 4th round pick on, needs to put the football through the god damn uprights when called upon. Please God.
Listen, I've seen way way wayyyyyy too many people defending Cade York this morning. Guy made one kick in his first game of his career and all of a sudden he's now allowed to miss whenever he wants? Missed a huge XP vs the Jets, missed a 45 yarder in the first half, and then missed the game winner yesterday at the buzzer. A game winner which, may I say, was very makable.
76% of kicks this year have been made from that distance, but only 1 kicker was taken in the 4th round of the NFL Draft. He HAS to make that kick. No ifs ands or buts about it. Guy makes 70 yarders in warmups but can't put it through from 54 with the game on the line? The year is 2022. I expect my kicker, who we drafted in the 4th round, to make that.
