Florida Man Arrested For Taking Matters Into His Own Hands At A Youth Football Practice And Leveling A Kid
Local 10 — A Florida man was arrested after allegedly storming the field and attacking a 9-year-old boy during football practice.
Escambia County Sheriff’s deputies arrested David Alan Taylor, 41, last month in Pensacola.
Deputies said that Taylor’s son was taking part in one-on-one tackling practice with another player, when Taylor’s son was overpowered and started crying.
That’s when witnesses said Taylor ran out on the field, put a helmet on his head, got into a football stance and then charged the victim, intentionally hitting the boy in the chest with the helmet.
Deputies said Taylor then grabbed the victim by the arms and pushed him to the ground.
Well you can't do that. I guess you have to say this guy is at least willing to do whatever it takes to protect — or maybe "avenge" would be a better verb — his kids, but they're going to cuff you for spearing a child at a youth football practice 10 times out of 10. They don't let you teach kids a lesson like they did in the good old days.
Were there no other adults at this practice, though? How the hell did this guy have enough time to put on a helmet and get down in a three-point stance without anyone noticing something was off? And how did a youth helmet fit to begin with? I would kill for a video of how all this went down.
If it's any consolation, I'm naming David Taylor an official Football Guy. Anyone who feels the need to get in a stance to hit an unsuspecting 9-year-old is a true student of the game.
