Dumping Them Out: I'm a Terrible Fan
One of these days the girl in the GIF will actually dump them out. It has to happen eventually. Even if it's by accident.
I don't have a ton of thoughts this week. But I am under the impression that only 10% of people who click on this blog actually read the words (and that might be generous).
But still, I should put in some effort. I can't just completely phone it in and only post Boob GIFs. I am a professional writer after all.
I've been trying to care more about things lately. Like my job, my health, my relationships, etc. Remember that one Katt Williams bit where he says, "weed has a chemical called fuck it".
Well I don't smoke weed that much, but I feel like the 'fuck it' chemical is engrained in my DNA. I've been getting better though. The other day I took the 5 minutes necessary to finally change my home address from Columbus to Jersey City. That's progress. Maybe next week I'll cancel my car insurance that I'm still paying for despite not having a car. One thing at a time. I would hate to overexert myself.
However, I must confess that one thing I can never fully bring myself to care about are my sports team. I do care about sports. I love sports. I love watching 12 straight hours of football on Saturday & Sunday. I love looking at the standings/rankings, thinking about hypotheticals and how one team winning affects another team's chances. I love following individual players, looking at their stats, and following their career trajectory from start to finish. I love keeping up with trades, expiring contacts, and all of the off-season + off-field drama.
However, working at Barstool Sports has made me realize how little I actually care about my own teams. At least compared to my co-workers. So many people live and die with every play of the game. People's days are ruined when their team fails to win.
Maybe it's just because my teams are terrible. I can only get so excited about Bowling Green Falcons & Indiana Hoosiers football. I would just rather watch better teams play. Indiana was in a barnburner against Maryland on Saturday, but it was going on at the same time as Tennessee/Alabama, so I watched the better football game.
Sometimes I think I should just fake it to fit in, but I'm not going to be able to keep up that energy. There has to be other people out there who are like me right? People who don't care much about any particular team, but still love to watch the sport? I can't be the only one.
I did wager $200 on the Phillies to win the World Series at the start of the playoffs, so I've been pretty into the Phillies games lately. They look amazing so far. I don't follow baseball that closely, but I've noticed teams seem to be batting power hitters in the lead off position nowadays. I was very surprised when I saw Kyle Schwarber leading off the game. I kind of love it though. Get you biggest bats to the plate as much as possible. But still, it's a funny visual watching this guy bat in the lead off spot.
I would like to address the Blog Wheel. I have not done the Blog Wheel for the last couple weeks. The Blog Wheel this week is going to be a video interview with fan favorite Asher Baron. If you don't know who Asher Baron is, you certainly will after the interview comes out. The people who know him seem to be very excited about it, and I'm excited to do my first ever interview (with the exception of when I interviewed Antonio Brown). I think it's going to be pretty funny. After this week we will return to the regularly scheduled Blog Wheel. I think it was maybe good to let it breathe for a bit anyways. I feel like it was getting a little repetitive.
I'm going to end this week's edition of Dumping Them Out with something that nobody wants to read - which is me begging you to follow @BarstoolSportsRundown on TikTok. Please do it. I would really appreciate it.
I mean, you don't have to if you don't want to. I would never make somebody do something they didn't feel comfortable doing. But it's pretty easy to just click follow. We only post few clips each night after the Rundown, so we won't be spamming your feed or anything like that. I had the brilliant idea to start having Dave, Big Cat, and KFC on the Monday Rundowns. So on Monday's you'll get a few classic Rundown clips. Those are pretty fun.
Please do it. But if you don't want to that's ok. Either way, I hope you appreciate this series of Boobs GIFs to end the blog.
