It's Been A Good Year In NCAAF, Here's An Early Winner For Saturday

Giphy Images.

Week 8 is here… time to get after it. With these blogs this year in college football, I am 11-5 good for 69% and if you're betting just 100 bucks on each, I have basically handed you 550 bucks in profit. Quality over quantity.

Currently at Barstool Sportsbook, the Houston Cougars are 3 point favorites at Navy. The total is 51.

I have been no stranger to betting Houston this season. I was actually on them the last time they played and had a TT over and they had a miracle comeback to win the game and get me a cash. This offense has been very good scoring 30 or more in five of six matchups this year. They rely heavily on a really good group of wide receivers most notably Tank Dell who has 534 receiving yards and six touchdowns. Clayton Tune has been his normal self and has the ability to get on the run and pick up some yards as well. He has 12 touchdowns and almost 1600 yards. The issue that Houston has had at times is bad penalties, they have constantly beat themselves with discipline problems and poor play. I'd have to imagine coming off a bye helps the psyche a bit and they finish the rest of the season off more disciplined.

They will face a Navy defense that has been solid against the run but it is a complete mess against the pass. They come in at 98th in passing success defense and have allowed near 300 passing yards a game. On each completed pass, the Midshipmen are allowing 10.6 yards, which is second worst in all of the country. They have faced two high level passing teams in Memphis and SMU and gave up 37 and 40 points respectively. They just aren't very good against teams that can throw the ball and that's where the Cougars have success on offense.

Houston is fresh, rested and free of negativity with some momentum after a huge win before the bye week. They come in with plenty of time to prepare with a great offense on how to attack a downright bad passing defense. In two games career against Navy, Clayton Tune is 55-65 for 651 and 5 TD's, Houston put up 41 and 28 in those game.

I played Houston TT OVER 26.5
