New Yorkers Rejoice! The Big Apple Ranks #2 In Rat Population
NY Post- The Big Apple is not America’s No. 1 ratropolis.
Despite being rife with more rodents than “Ratatouille,” New York City is not the most rat-infested city in the US. That title actually belongs to Chicago, according to a survey by extermination firm Orkin on the rattiest cities in America in 2022.
The study is released every fall, when “rice and other rodents invade an estimated 21 million homes in the United States.” To gauge the most rodentified regions this year, the pest control company ranked 50 cities “by the number of both residential and commercial rodent treatments performed from Sept. 1, 2021, to Aug. 31, 2022.”
Actually amazed at this report. You can knock NYC for a lot of things. We likely rate #1 in piles of trash on the sidewalk per capita , #1 in dollars per square foot of apartments, #1 in noise, and what feels like #1 in traffic. However this is a shock that we aren't the top city in the country with rats.
Every time you enter a subway platform you have to look down at the ground to make sure you aren't catching a rat run over your shoes. Every time you look at the tracks waiting for a train you see 4-5 rats . Last week I think I saw them conducting a weekly card game. They are everywhere. It's actually amazing a city like NYC, given just how many subway stations we have, the variety of space for these rats to run, the amount of garbage in the streets, isn't #1 in rat population.
Which makes me ask…what the hell is going on in Chicago that the windy city is #1?
How the hell can Chicago beat NYC?
NYC is a rat heaven. If Chicago is #1, they need to figure it the fuck out. You can never be behind NYC in rat population. NEVER.
On the bright side, Miami and Figawi are rat free so any 40+ (bald) men living out the best years of the their lives in the clubs they are too old for, thanks to their friends hard work can sleep safely at night knowing their homes are rodent free.
