Everyone Needs To Leave Jessica Simpson Alone Right Now

Jessica Simpson is standing up for herself.

After recently sparking conversation about her appearance online, the 42-year-old designer clapped back at her critics. "I needed to be in my studio today because this is where I ground myself and heal," she wrote in a Nov. 6 Instagram message alongside a video of herself singing "Party of One." The mom of three added, "As much as I have learned to block out destructive noise…peoples' comments and judgements can still hurt deeply with their incessant nagging 'you will never be good enough.'"

Jessica continued, "The most important thing I have learned through the last 5yrs without alcohol being a guard for escapism, is that I CAN and ALWAYS WILL get through it."

Noting that she is "capable of pretty much anything I care enough about to put my mind to," the singer went on to share a few of her noteworthy attributes.

"I am present. I am deeply inspired," she wrote. "I am determined. I am honest. I care about other people."

I'm not sure how everyone on the internet suddenly forgot how to compose themselves, but we have universally loved Jessica Simpson out here fighting for her life against fucking losers who won't stop commenting on her appearance, based on a Pottery Barn Kids paid ad (a tour of her daughter's bedroom) she did on her instagram. Here it is:

I know, every celebrity gets this spin cycle treatment, but what's wrong here? People in the comments are like "is she okay? she's talking so slow? What's wrong with her?" Ummm...I watched this video expecting to be blown away with concern but it sounds like she is just...doing a little bit of an awkward job with a forced ad read? Are people thrown off because she's lost a lot of weight in the past few years, after she was called fat relentlessly? She's 42, a mom, working all the time on pumping her businesses back up to the BILLION DOLLARS they used to be, and she wants to do a quick ad for her daughter's bedroom? Can't we leave this woman ALONE?????

Giphy Images.

Don't listen to them, Jess. Normal people still love you and think you're doing great.
