The Holidays are Coming - Which Quartile Are You In? (Plus bonus- Kim's Spicy Chewy Cookie)

It's that time of the year! Are you ready? Do you have your Thanksgiving plans made, your menu delegated, and time set up to see friends on Friday or Saturday? Do you have your Christmas tree? If you answered yes to any of those, give yourself a nice pat on the back. You're in the upper quartile of the upper quartile of holiday planners. I'm glad there's no video of someone asking me what quartiles meant after John's Colts blog yesterday, but guess who's already sounding smart in her OKC mom's group texts.

My tree goes up the day after Thanksgiving. While decorating, I watch It's a Wonderful Life or a funny Christmas movie. My kids used to help, but they think going to drink with their friends is more fun. They just don't get it.

So if you said no, you have a lot to do. I am making a video, when i get my voice back after laryngitis, on things to look for when buying an artificial Christmas tree. Look for it on Instagram and Tiktok. That's not an endorsement for fake trees, by the way. But when half of your house is allergic to real trees, there's not much a mom can do.

The cookie this week is Kim's Spicy Chewy Cookie. It has the flavors of all things fall with a nice touch of sweet icing. You can watch Big Cat rate the cookie below. His face was impressed, but his mouth said 3.5. I wonder what will be the 9 or 10 for him. Probably a Subway chocolate chip.

Here is the video of the cookie process:

I was asking people in the office questions this week and got into this unexpected conversation with Big Cat and PFT. I love these guys, but I did go home and cry. Fortunately, my son's friend sent him the video, and he gave me a call to refute every word that came out of their mouths. Friendly reminder, if you haven't spoken to your mother or father in a while, know that a quick call goes a long way to the people responsible for your existence, especially around the holidays. And you should call her daily if you brought your mom, who hasn't worked in 3 decades, to NYC and threw her into some content world she knows nothing about and then left her stranded so she could go ramble about whatever the Mean Girls talk about on their podcast. If I'd done that, I'd be in the bottom quartile of the bottom quartile.

We also had two great interviews, one with Liz Goldwyn and one with Kristen McGee. These women are inspirational and have a plethora of information that you, your daughter, or anyone in your life will find helpful! And if you had me saying "quartile" and "plethora" in the same blog, come collect your winnings.
