Update! We've Now Got SNL Staff Writers Boycotting The Show Over Dave Chappelle Coming Back To Host

Source - There’s unrest at 30 Rock, Page Six hears, over the decision to sign up Dave Chappelle to host “Saturday Night Live” this weekend.

We’re told that some staff writers are so furious that the comedy superstar — who has made transphobic and homophobic jokes — has been chosen to helm the iconic show that they’re sitting out the episode.

“They’re not going to do the show,” an insider told Page Six. “But none of the actors are boycotting.”

But Chappelle’s rep told us that there was nothing to suggest that there was a boycott when they attended writers’ meetings this week.

Question: Who the fucckkkkk do these people think they are? Honestly. Imagine protesting jokes as an adult whose job it is to write jokes? Imagine having the opportunity to work at SNL then squandering it away because you were offended...by a joke? Offended! Think about how insane you have to be to do that? If I'm Lorne Michaels I'm either firing everyone or quitting on the spot. Preferably both. The show needs an overhaul from the ground up, one that's focused on being FUNNY above all else - not coddling the feelings of a delusional staff. Once that happens they'll start to attract the kind of talent they need to restore SNL to its glory.

Fortunately, none of the cast has protested so that's a good sign. It'd be one thing if Kenan Thompson was walking off, but he's not. He understands that jokes are jokes and at the end of the day none it matters. People just wanna laugh, man.

I also love how this comes on the heels of that Netflix employee trying to cancel Chappelle again. I wrote about it below...

Coincidence? I think not. That's really all I have to say on this one. I'm looking forward to watching Chappelle on SNL and you should too. Now enjoy my favorite skit from his first time hosting. Thanks for reading...
