Devin Booker Went Nuclear And Put Up One Of The Most Impressive 50 Bombs The NBA Has Ever Seen

Another night in the NBA, another opportunity to witness some pretty cool shit.

Tonight? We're talking 50 bombs. We were a Jayson Tatum jumper away from having multiple 50 pieces on the same night (Tatum had 49) for the second time this season (Garland/Embiid). Sadly he missed, so we're left with the work of Devin Booker. One of the best players in the league on one of the best teams in the league just so happened to put up one of the best 50 bombs you'll ever see

Uhhhhh holy shit.

It's hard to pick my favorite part about this 50 piece. There's the fact that Booker did it in just 3 quarters and only 31 minutes of court time. That's patently ridiculous no matter how you slice it. That's 1.6 points a minute which is simply insane. Then there's the fact that he only went 5-6 from the FT line. This wasn't a case where half of his 50 came at the charity stripe. Only 5 of his 51 came from FTs!! Usually when you see guys get into the high 40s and 50s its boosted by 15-20 FTA. Not here. I find that way more impressive since you're actually getting buckets.

Which brings me to the 20-25 FGA. I don't even know what to say about that. There's being locked in or in a shooting zone, and then there's dropping 51 points on 20-25 shooting. That's some special shit and why I keep telling you all to watch this league every night. You're pretty much guaranteed to see something fucking crazy. I know it may feel like scoring is easier this year and with the addition of the three point line we're seeing more and more 50 balls, but not like this. You saw the tweets. This was some rare shit. About two weeks ago we saw Booker finish with 49, and a few days ago he had 44, so if you haven't been paying attention to Booker or the Suns, I suggest you start.

Not only that, but the Suns have quietly won 5 in a row and sit at 15-6 and atop the Western Conference. Doing it with CP3 not playing, Cam Johnson hurt, and Jae Crowder still out because he refuses to come off the bench, they've tied the Celts for the longest active winning streak in the NBA right now. They certainly look like the same old basketball machine that's been running through the NBA these last few years.

It certainly helps when you have someone like Booker, who has proven on any given night he drop 50 on your head without breaking a sweat.

P.S.

Don't think I've forgotten about the Kardashian/Jenner curse being lifted off Booker. That for sure played a role here. I'll call it at 27%.
