Cavill's last IG post coincided with the release of 'Black Adam' and his cameo as Superman in the post credits.
If you weren't aware, James Gunn took over as co-CEO of DC back in late October and has been shaking up a ton of stuff. But this has just been disaster this has been for a great dude in Henry Cavill. He's out, he's in, he's out, he's in. It's just not fair for easily the best actor and portrayal among the DCEU justice league. Honestly, I blame the Rock. Allegedly, he strongarmed DC into not only including Cavill's superman cameo at the end of his movie, but into singing Cavill to a new deal.
This is my takeaway from the situation: This is good for both sides. The DCEU as we know it is a sinking ship and the only way to right it is by starting fresh. James Gunn is there to do just that! He is gonna reboot this universe, give it a semblance of cohesion which DC never had, and finally have a good rival product to Marvel.
For Cavill, he gets the sympathy points from the public AND he frees himself up to do any number of other blockbusters. That includes becoming a Marvel hero if he wants a good payday.
If you're reading this, Gunn, don't stop here. Axe Gal Gadot, Momoa, Miller and the rest. It's time for a fresh start.
