Watching Joe Budden Talk About All The Insane Stuff Old Dirty Bastard Did When Recording "Fantasy" With Mariah Carey Makes A Classic Story Somehow Even Better

Nate blogged this a few years back and it was all quotes and comments via a Billboard article way back when. Give it a read below. 

Now there is a video of Joe Budden telling the story and watching the joy on his face tell this story is all time. The visual of Joe reading this story to a room full of guys cracks me up. Him continuing to say "and there's more", always makes me laugh.  He fully can't believe that the story is so ridiculous and just when he thinks it's over, there's more. It's like the layers of an onion but each layer is a different act of comedy to a very very funny story. 

I had seen this article float around and remember reading it way back when. But something about this video surfacing and the reactions of the guys in the room just hits different. Each guy laughs in their own way and can't believe how insane the story is. 

I personally think the whole thing is hilarious, but my favorite parts are ODB continuing to fall asleep after only writing a line at a time. This poor editor or mixer having to splice in the song line by line seems like the most unnecessary and unneeded work possible. Poor bastard trying to seamlessly mix Old Dirty Bastard a line at a time. Unreal. 

The other funny part is the clothes demand and then refusing to wear them in the video. All time move that only a rap star would do or would get away with. 

Again, the written version of this makes me laugh, but the video version really adds a new layer to things that amplify the comedy. Would love to see more stories come out about ODB , but with him passing in 2004 stories like these seem few and far in between and almost like collectible rare cards that never get broken out of the box. I guess just be lucky we have this one.
