The Ole Miss QB Room Is Officially STACKED After Oklahoma State Star Spencer Sanders Transfers to the Sip

Lane Kiffin is ON ONE this week in the transfer portal!

Yesterday, it was former 5 star QB Walker Howard transferring to Ole Miss from LSU with 4 years of eligibility left. Presumably Howard would battle incumbent Ole Miss starter Jaxson Dart in spring for the 2023 QB job.

So much for that.

This morning, Oklahoma State star QB Spencer Sanders announced that HE ALSO IS TRANSFERRING TO THE SIP!

Sanders had 85 career TDs in Mike Gundy's offense and was one of the best QBs in the Big 12 the last few years. He is immediately the frontrunner for the QB job. He has one year of eligibility remaining as a graduate transfer.

Sanders choosing Ole Miss over Hugh Freeze and Auburn makes it that much sweeter too.

All of a sudden, the QB room is LOADED in Oxford. What do we make of this 3 way battle?

Well it does not take a rocket scientist to see this does not look good for Jaxson Dart who now has two people battling him for his job. Would Lane Kiffin try to bring in two other QBs including a graduate transfer if he felt good about Dart starting next season? Probably not. Dart already transferred from USC to Ole Miss and would be looking at sitting out a year on his 2nd transfer if he leaves Ole Miss. He has 2 years of eligibility left.

There's no chance in hell Spencer Sanders transferred to Ole Miss to sit behind Dart or Walker Howard. With the amount of experience he has and one year left, he is the front runner for the starting job immediately in my opinion. I am sure it will be an open competition like we saw last year between Dart & Luke Altmayer (now at Illinois) that could go into the start of the season.

Make no mistake about it. Walker Howard is the future. He also did not transfer to sit on the bench as he was stuck behind both Jayden Daniels and Nussmeier at LSU. But this is a different situation because Sanders only has one year left and Nussmeier had multiple. Howard is certainly going to be given a chance to win the job this fall. Even if he does not, he can develop his body more and be in line to start the next three seasons.

There's no denying that Lane Kiffin is the king of the transfer portal. The last 48 hours have been unbelievable to be an Ole Miss fan! The Grove Collective is clearly getting Lane the money he needs to get top talent too.

The sky is the limit on offense with this stellar QB situation and superstar RB Quinshon Judkins leading the running game next fall!

Hotty Toddy!
