Apparently The UFC Wants Conor McGregor To Coach On The Ultimate Fighter Again And He's Into It

Conor McGregor just shared an Instagram post in which he says the UFC has offered him a spot on The Ultimate Fighter next season as a coach, and that he's into the idea of that "full immersion" in a camp!

This is a snap from the original ultimate fighter house. Where I coached vs urijah faber. This photo was just before the show tho. It was right before I won my first world title beating urijah team mate chad mendes around. I then went on to coach the famous fight show straight after the fight. With a big black eye and a gash, my tricolor, and my new and first ever ufc gold belt, I waltzed into the notorious fight gym in Las Vegas. The slickest suits and shouts the show had ever seen before. On top of the silverware. And I coached my team to victory. Crazy. Some journey. I have just been offered to coach this role again. I like it. It is full immersion which is needed.
I see fighters lining up.
I know whats ahead I been ready motherfuckers. #StayReady

McGregor's last stint on the show was legendary, and the last truly memorable season for many fans. It was him vs Urijah Faber, and unlike most seasons, the coaches did NOT have a fight scheduled for the end of the show. That didn't stop them from talking shit for weeks, though - that is, until they realized they actually liked each other....

….but overall, it was awesome. Conor was losing his mind for his then-friend now-enemy Artem Lobov every week (and even bending the rules for him), calling out TJ Dillashaw for being a snake in the grass, getting into it with Cody Garbrandt, throwing pool parties; he did it all.

I think a return to the show in 2023 where he'd be coaching against someone like Michael Chandler or Jorge Masvidal would be MASSIVE. Like, that'd be must watch television each and every week - and in a post-pandemic world where it feels like the UFC has grown 10x, I feel like it could even draw in the biggest of casuals like the old Mayweather 24/7s did.

Oh, and I have to point out that McGregor was hit with some more horrendous allegations yesterday, of which he is denying….

I think we all wish this would stop happening - but that's now something to keep an eye on. As always, I'll update you if there's any news about either story.

P.S. My favorite clip from the McGregor/Faber season….
