David Miscavige, The Leader Of Scientology, Is Now Also Missing
(NY Post)--The hunt is on for David Miscavige, the fiery, controversial and elusive head of Scientology, who’s being sought by lawyers in a civil child trafficking suit brought by former church members in federal court.
The case involves three plaintiffs who once belonged to the sect’s notorious military-style Sea Org and who allege they were forced into the church as kids and had to work into adulthood for almost no pay. Valeska Paris, along with married couple Gawain and Laura Baxter, filed the complaint last year after quitting Sea Org more than a decade ago.
According to the plaintiffs’ lawyers, process servers have tried 27 times over four months to serve Miscavige in both Los Angeles, where Scientology has a formidable presence, as well as its headquarters in Clearwater, Fla., the Tampa Bay Times reported, citing court records.
Scientology just can't seem to stay out of the news lately. I blogged this yesterday
First Shelly Miscavige goes missing. Which is to say that people have started caring on the internet that she has been missing for 15 years. Then Tom Cruise and Top Gun: Maverick get nominated. Now, right when Cruise is on the goalline for a lifetime achievement award, his Church leader also goes missing. You've got to have a fortress of a network around you to be the leader of the world's creepiest religion that is accused of doing all sorts of nefarious deeds from child labor, to brainwashing, to infiltrating the government, to making people disappear, and evade being served 27 times in two different states. All I ever hear about his how the government and big tech can watch literally every step you make. Every keystroke. Every conversation. But...they can't find David Miscavige or his wife? Strange. Maybe they'll just have to pick a new leader. A new power couple. Plenty to choose from.
PS: Breaks my heart that Peggy Olson was the #1 person on the list.
