Mr. Beast Cured 1,000 People's Blindness And Internet Commenters Are Somehow Upset About It

This is Mr. Beast's most recent YouTube video. Instead of having people stand in a circle for weeks at a time for a chance at a huge prize or re-creating Squid Game, he simply shelled out what I would imagine was a shit ton of money for 1,000 blind people to have a surgery which would restore their sight.

And somehow, this has created a healthcare discourse online that has lead to some people, whether directly or indirectly, being upset at Mr. Beast.

I guess some people are upset because it took Mr. Beast, an internet personality, to cure their blindness and not the healthcare system or what have you. But are they ignoring that these 1,000 people would still be blind it it wasn't for an act of kindness by a Mr Beast? It seems to me what he did was still pretty clearly a net positive. You can still be mad about the American healthcare system if you want while acknowledging this guy spending seven figures of his own money to significantly help 1,000 strangers is a very cool act.

The video has 48 million views after being up for just one day, though, so I'd say most people appreciate what a cool gesture this was. Mr. Beast continues to dominate the internet, much to the chagrin of the haters.
