Advanced Sabermetrics: Andrew McCutchen Statistically Becomes A MONSTER When He Plays A Baseball Game Near A Furries Convention
Who had any idea that Andrew McCutchen was a big furries guy? I had no clue but McCutchen went on The Footbahlin With Ben Roethlisberger and they talked about how he turns into Babe Ruth when he is playing a game near a furrie convention and it just so happens that Pittsburgh hosts what is known as the world's biggest furrie convention. It's a great clip that includes Pat Freiermuth having quite literally no idea what he was talking about. McCutchen says it is simple. When he sees a furrie, he tweets about it.
I've been to Orioles game when they have Broniecon in the Inner Harbor so I get what he's talking about. You for sure do some double takes at the costumes walking the city. But Cutch didn't let it deter him, it turned him into an MVP.
We got a great breakdown by @FoolishBB that can be seen here:
He breaks down the entire story of how Cutch started to become obsessed with furries and how he performs on the field when furries are nearby.
As the old saying goes, numbers never lie and Cutch would be the best baseball player ever if there was a furries convention next to the ballpark everyday. Look at those stats. McCutchen better be the face of the ad campaign when the Buccos eventually have a furries day at the ballpark. Make it happen Pirates!
Ballplayers are superstitious so I wouldn't be surprised if McCutchen one day shows up to the ballpark dressed like a furrie if and when the Pirates have their furries night. Now we know why he re-signed with the Pirates. He's cherrypicking stats thanks to the furries during his last run. What a veteran move.
