Anthony Davis' Dominant Closing Sequence To Cap The Lakers' Big Comeback Was A Resounding Rebuttal To His All-Star Snub

Anyone who even has a faint awareness of the NBA isn't naive enough to count on Anthony Davis staying healthy for a whole season, but damn. When this guy is on the court, he's as dominant, athletic and skilled of a big man as there is this side of Joel Embiid. I guess back-to-back MVP Nikola Jokic is pretty good too. Whatever. Call me when either of them has a 'chip like AD!!!

Seriously though, it's such a treat whenever Davis is in action and firing on all cylinders. Making that tough fallaway basket, then denying Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton in the paint on the other end mere seconds later? Pretty fucking dope. The replay clearly shows it was clean AF.

Someone out there will surely say, "THIS IS FALSE. THERE WERE MORE POSSESSIONS AFTER THIS."

OK fine. Buddy Hield had a shot to win it for Indiana after two missed free throws from Barstool Sports' own Patrick Beverley that I'd like to have stricken from the record. As Hield's shot missed, though, guess who sealed off potential offensive rebounders who aspired to a winning tip-in?

That's right. THE BROW.

I feel like this season has gotten a little personal for AD. Like that whole "killer instinct" or lack thereof criticism finally got to him after all these years and he's FED UP with it. I know he's missed time with injury yet again, but Davis seems far more consistent than he's been to this point in his career. The state of the Lakers mandates that AD be on his A-game as often as possible. He's not disappointing in the least.

You won't catch Davis publicly venting any frustration about his All-Star snub. To be honest, if there's anyone who could use the extra rest during those annual festivities, it's the perpetually dinged-up big man who, along with LeBron James, holds the Lakers' 2022-23 fate in his hands.

Good on you, Anthony Davis. Badass finish here to cap a 15-point comeback. I agree, you should be first-team All-Defense.
