The Scenes Out Of East Palestine, Ohio After A Rail Car Carrying Deadly Chemicals Exploded Into Flames Are Wild

RNNB- A train derailment in Ohio last week has turned into a major environmental disaster impacting thousands of people in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

The train, which belonged to Norfolk Southern, one of America's leading rail operators, derailed near the Pennsylvania border, causing a pileup and leaving behind a "mangled and charred mass of boxcars and flames" outside the village of East Palestine, home to about 5,000 people.

According to Norfolk Southern, one-fifth of the cars were carrying hazardous materials. Last week, residents near the train tracks were told to evacuate by Governor Mike DeWine due to the potential of "catastrophic tanker failure" that could cause an explosion with "deadly shrapnel traveling up to a mile." According to officials, 14 giant tankers carrying hundreds of thousands of gallons of vinyl chloride were particularly concerning, as the chemical is flammable, toxic, and a declared carcinogen.

To deal with the hazardous material, a controlled burn of the vinyl chloride required more evacuations of East Palestine. The burn sent massive plumes of hydrochloric acid and the toxic gas phosgene into the sky, alarming residents who feared for their lives. The crash site also leaked other hazardous materials into surrounding waterways, including toxic chemicals deadly to fish.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) assured the public that everyone's drinking water was protected. In addition, the EPA announced that the air in East Palestine was safe enough for residents to return after multiple samples were taken from "strategic locations" and all readings were "at normal concentrations, normal backgrounds, which you find in almost any community."

Despite this, residents have reported livestock dying and unexpected illnesses, including

"extreme" headaches and nausea. Silverado Caggiano, a hazardous materials specialist, commented on the developments in East Palestine, saying, "We basically nuked a town with chemicals so we could get a railroad open. I was surprised when they quickly told the people they can go back home, but then said if they feel like they want their homes tested they can have them tested."

Well I’m no scientist, or government official. But this seems very, very, very, very bad.

This compilation of videos from Tik tok is fucking insane. And heartbreaking.

Especially considering the fact that they’re allegedly arresting media members who are attempting to cover it?

I mean why isn’t this the biggest story in the news right now? This is basically a Chernobyl level environmental event is it not?

Why is not only the media not really covering it but also the Governor of Ohio not commenting on it?

Very odd and suspicious to say the least.

Apparently Phosgene was used as a chemical weapon in World War 1, but it was so brutal, cruel, and inhumane it was banned from being allowed in war. Yikes man. Pray for these poor people.

Also, you’ll never believe it but we have lobbyists to thank for the government not seeing through passing stricter safety and regulatory measures concerning trains carrying deadly chemicals.
