The Rise & Fall of The Arkansas Bushman

If you aren't familiar with the Arkansas Bushman, then you probably didn't spend any time in Little Rock, Arkansas between January 2021 and October 2022. The Arkansas Bushman is a man of prank. Not a man of pranks. He just does the one bush thing. And the ingredients needed for his bush prank are simple.

Ingredient #1: Bush Costume
Ingredient #2: Large Black Pot

But there's one aspect of his prank you can't purchase on Amazon... brilliant comedic timing.

A prank doesn't have to be elaborate. It's a common misconception that variety is important when it comes to content. If god blesses you with an idea that works once, you hammer that thing into the ground over, and over, and over, and over again. That's day 1 stuff here at PENN Entertainment. If you can throw a 103 mph fastball on the black every pitch, it would be stupid to throw anything else. The bush prank hits 100% of a time.

Woman Talking on Phone: "Hi honey, I'm walking down the street here in Little Rock, Arkansas. There's nothing special going on. I'm just about to pass a normal looking bush- AHHHH!!!"

Arkansas Bushman: "AHH!!!!"

Woman Talking on Phone: "AHHHHH!!!!"

Comedy gold. Every morning the Arkansas Bushman would wake up, dress like a bush, drive into the city, hunker down in a pot, and terrorize the community. Everybody loved it. It was an evergreen prank. An endless pit of fresh content that never got old, no matter how many times he did it.

Nobody was safe from the Arkansas Bushman. It wasn't long before he gained local celebrity status.

He checked online and saw that there was nobody being a Bushman in Arkansas, so he decided to do it.

He promised a face reveal at 1 million YouTube subscribers

Nothing was the same after that 3 minute local news segment that was used as a pallet cleanser to follow up a story about an abducted child. That 3 minute hit turned him into a local celebrity. He started receiving calls from cities across Arkansas who didn't have a Bushman, and asked him to come perform in their city. It looked like Little Rock, Arkansas was just the tip of the iceberg for him.

But then the unthinkable happened. Despite the friendly, lighthearted nature of his prank where he scares the living shit out of completely unsuspecting strangers, it took a nasty turn one day.

I'm not sure why the Bushman attempted to run his prank on a homeless man carrying all of his belongings. Homeless men who walk down busy streets with all of their belongings are the cause of 9 out of 10 incidents in New York City. It doesn't matter what city they don't have a home in, they're capable of anything.

Maybe the Bushman was getting recognized a little too often and was running out of targets. Maybe he thought a homeless man wouldn't be familiar with his game. Or maybe views were down and he just wanted to ramp it up a notch. The Bushman is lucky that he didn't lose a branch. He lived to tell the tale, but it was a fatal mistake for his career as a content creator. His last post was made was in October 2021. Sadly, the fans who had once revered the Bushman as the greatest prankster in all of Arkansas, appear to have turned on him in a major way.

I'm a little confused about the timeline. It appears the Bushman attack happened over the summer, but people are just now finding out about it. He hasn't posted anything since October, so maybe he went to jail? Probably not, but maybe the police put an end to the prank because he couldn't help himself from assaulting anyone who retaliated to his scares. Or maybe he finally made enough money from the creator fund that he was able to ride off into the sunset and retire.

However it went down, the Arkansas Bushman has been CANCELLED. Unfortunately, it looks like we'll never get to that 1 million YouTube subscriber face reveal. A true shame. He was only 986,500 subscribers short of his goal. The Arkansas Bushman's identity will likely never be known, and it appears he has hung it up for good. But just in case, next time you pass a bush, be sure to shoot a taser at it.
