WATCH: Warner Brothers Gave Out Hilariously Disrespectful Bonuses To The Cast Of 'Scooby-Doo'
ICYMI we had Freddy Prinze Jr. on the last episode of LCB and we got into the weeds. We were only supposed to have him for a half hour but ended up going an hour 15 on a bunch of different behind-the-scenes Hollywood stories. My favorite had to be the one above.
In case you can't watch at work or whatever, here is the gist of it. It used to be that, when a movie performed really well, the actors would get big bonuses. Prinze jr. and his wife, Sarah Michelle Gellar, played Fred and Daphne in 'Scooby Doo', which made nearly $300 million against an $84 million budget. They get a ring that a package arrived at their house from WB. What is in it, you ask? Their bonus, which consisted of a single box of scooby snacks to share and a scooby-doo plush doll.
This is a hilarious story in the vacuum of that time, but even funnier with all of WB's recent fuck ups in mind. You can watch the full ep and interview below.
