Credit To The Flyers For Allowing The New York Rangers To Play A Home Game In Philly Last Night

Truth be told, I've only watched like 3 or 4 Flyers games so far this year. Used to be that I'd make sure to catch 80 at least every single season. Maybe I'd fall asleep before a 10pm start against San Jose or have to miss another game due to scheduling conflicts. But now the only time I watch the Flyers is if I have absolutely nothing better in my life to do.

Last night was one of those nights. I flipped on TNT (luckily I use Hulu as my provider so the first 2 periods weren't blacked out for me) and I was initially taken aback. The Flyers were on the power play and every time Tony DeAngelo touched the puck, he was getting relentlessly boo'd. I was so confused as to why Flyers fans would be boo'ing Tony DeAngelo like that, but then I took a closer look at the crowd. Blue jerseys as far as the eye could see. Pretty much every section was 80% blue jerseys. Absolutely fucking pathetic.

And not because Philly FANS would allow a New York team to come in and takeover our stadium. But because the Flyers organization have forced Philly fans to not give a single shit about this team for the past 24 months. The Philadelphia Flyers are the biggest joke of a franchise right now. And why is that? Well because Dave Scott and the rest of the dorks over at Comcast-Spectacor either A) don't know what the hell they're doing, 2) simply do not give a fuck, or D) some combination of the two.

It is beyond disrespectful what Comcast has done to this organization. I wish Ed Snider could come out of his grave right now just to beat Dave Scott's ass. The Wells Fargo Center used to be one of the most hostile barns to play in as an opposing team. Tie Domi had to fight a fan in the penalty box for christ's sake. And now it's just a cheaper way for Rangers fans to watch their team than having to go to Madison Square Garden.

It's pathetic. Comcast would rather try to shove Gritty's dick down your throat than fire the GM who clearly has no idea what he's doing. A GM who is 24 hours away from the trade deadline right now and the only move he's made is to trade Isaac Ratcliffe for future considerations. This team fucking sucks. They should have been tanking all year long and having a fire sale the past 60 games. But this team lacks any sense of direction because they lack any sense of leadership. And they lack any sense of leadership because Comcast-Spectacor doesn't give a shit.

Last night may have just been the absolute lowest moment in Flyers franchise history. What's even more hilarious is that most of the fans who at least wanted to tune in and watch the game on TV couldn't, because there was a "technical error" that blacked the game out on TNT for people with Xfinity as their cable provider.

So nobody wanted to go to the game because the team is an absolute joke. But even if you wanted to watch the game on TV, the goddamn idiots who run the asylum over at Comcast couldn't figure out a way to make that happen until the 3rd period.

Comcast has ruined the Flyers to the point where it doesn't matter if they sell the team or not anymore. If they sell the team, great. That's a strong move in the right direction. If they don't, then we can just continue about the rest of our lives not caring about them anymore. Either way works for me.
