CBB IN 60: Goodnight, No. 1 Seeds, A Cinderella Exits, And Texas Dominates
Today’s CBB in 60 recap and today’s outfit of the day are sponsored by Express!
Down goes No. 1, not once, but twice. The top overall seed in this year’s tournament, Alabama, had their run cut short thanks to the 5 seed, San Diego State. It’s the first time in Mountain West history that a team from the conference is in the Elite Eight.
Meanwhile, the final top seed standing is toast as well.. Miami eliminated Houston, and the dream of the Cougars playing in the Final Four in their hometown is officially over. It’s back-to-back Elite Eight appearance for Coach L and the Hurricanes, and he busted out some wild dance moves in the postgame locker room celebration as well.
It’s the end of the road for one Cinderella. The 15th seeded Princeton Tigers were sent home by No. 6 Creighton. It was an impressive second half by the Blue Jays, who were led by big man Ryan Kalbrenner: 22 pts.
The left side of the bracket is absolutely wild: Either San Diego State, Creighton, FAU, or Kansas State will be playing in the National Championship game. WIDE OPEN!
Finally, No. 2 Texas blew out the 3 seed, Xavier in the late game. It was nearly a flawless game by the Longhorns, the only downside, Dylan Disu got injured and was wearing a boot on the bench after playing just 2 minutes.
