Netflix Fumbles The Bag, Leaves Audience Of 'Love Is Blind' Reunion Hanging For 90 Minutes

Netflix made a HUGE DEAL about the Love Is Blind reunion being live. I'm not sure why. I feel like an edited version would've been better and also what they specialize in. The unpredictability factor would still be there for the viewer, so it seemed like an all around weird decision. Little did I know, they hired 2016 All Business Pete to run the operation.

It started off saying that they were running 15 minutes late, which is annoying, but manageable.

It went beyond the 15 minutes but they started teasing us with guests we'd really like to see? Not sure why they showed Irina though…

At 8:20pm ET, 5 minutes AFTER they said they delay would end, they retweeted AOC for some reason. Decent joke, but then they were radio silent for over an hour while the stream was still unwatchable.

Fran got a great tip that Netflix had given up on trying live and was going to release it later.

Netflix confirmed it at 9:29pm.

But then they made it available live for everyone as long as you got in and fast forwarded.

The reunion was meh. Probably a B-. My predictions were fairly accurate outside of Shelby being on a reality show and Kwame being miserable, but he didn't look crazy happy!

But coming out of that experience, as someone who would likely move from being a cable guy to a cord cutter, I'm terrified. You're telling me that YouTube TV is going to handle NFL Week 1?! No shot! This was one of Netflix's first live shows and it was a horrific failure. Airing a show 90 minutes after it was supposed to air and still not everyone able to get it is completely unacceptable. The fact they didn't have some b-roll to show or a Plan B was mind boggling. I guess they just expected it to work? Horrible experience and I hope they never do a live show again.
