Colorado WR Montana Lemonious-Craig Went Off In The Buffs' Spring Game And Then Immediately Entered The Transfer Portal

If this isn't a perfect embodiment of college football in 2023, I don't know what is. Colorado receiver Montana Lemonious-Craig went for 154 yards and a touchdown in the Buffaloes' spring game that was televised on ESPN on Saturday afternoon and he was in the transfer portal looking for greener pastures by Sunday morning. It's a cold world.

This is just the way college football works now. I actually respect the move of going all the way through spring practice and betting on yourself to ball out in a spring game, doing just that and then using that leverage to shop yourself in the portal. Lemonious-Craig could have transferred after the season with his 497 career receiving yards and I'm fairly certain not too many schools would have called. Now he's the belle of the ball.

I'm sure Deion Sanders isn't thrilled with losing the receiver who led his team in yards in the spring game, but every coach in the country has to deal with this now. It's just the cost of doing business. It probably doesn't help that Lemonious-Craig was joined by a couple other Buffs entering the portal and a 4-star decommitment since Saturday as well, though.

It's going to be an interesting season in Boulder.
