Steph Curry Went Absolutely Nuclear With A Historic 50 Points To Carry The Warriors To A Massive Game 7 Win

There's a reason people say they are the best two words in sports.

Game 7.

Honestly, there's nothing like it. The thrill you get from seeing your team pull out a Game 7 win is one of the most incredible experiences we have as a sports fan. But if you lose? That shit is going to haunt you for the rest of your life. You're going to close your eyes and replay every mistake, every turnover, every offensive rebound, every missed shot. It never goes away.

What makes Game 7s so awesome is how unpredictable they can be. It's not just about the stars, but which team is going to have a role player that steps up and does something heroic. Whoever that ends up being is more often than not what gets a team over the hump and onto the next round.

As someone with no rooting interest, all I ask for in these moments is an entertaining Game 7. I want high drama and some high pressure execution. Could the Power of The Beam finally seal the deal and defeat the Warriors for good? Or would this be yet another example of Steph Curry's dominance and the true will of a champion?

I don't want to go all Giannis here, but while this may be a disappointing ending for the Kings, their season was not a failure. It's another heartbreaking Game 7 loss at home which stings given what happened in 2002, but they proved themselves this season. Winning in the playoffs is hard. Beating the Warriors is even harder. They are a team on the rise that has to go through the pain just like everyone else. Sure, it's true their second half collapse was brutal to watch and ultimately ended their season, but that's how it usually goes with young teams. They were playing someone who knows how to win and lock in during these huge games, and how it's often times the small details that swing momentum.

That's why this Game 7 is more about the Warriors in my opinion. These motherfuckers just won't die! You want to talk about a role player going nuts and completely changing the game? How about what Kevon Looney managed to do in his minutes

Last year it was Grant Williams making 7 3PM in a Game 7, this year it was Kevon Looney absolutely ragdolling Damontas Sabonis and the entire Kings team to the tune of 21 rebounds, including 10 offensive. 10! The entire reason this game changed was because of what Looney did on the glass in the 3rd quarter. As a team the Warriors had 13 OREBs, Looney had 7, and GS finished with 11 2nd chance points alone by the end of that quarter. A 2 point halftime deficit turned into a 10 point lead entering the 4th, all because the Warriors kept outworking every single Kings player on the court. That's just some heart of a champion shit. That'a all rebounding is, it's effort. Who wants it more? Just like Looney did in the WCF and NBA Finals last year, he dominated.

The worst part about giving the Warriors all these extra possessions is they're going to find their rhythm, most notably Stephen Curry. This is bad news if you find yourself in a position where you're trying to beat him in a do or die game. All he did was make NBA history

What more is there to say about Steph Curry? He cannot be a real person. This should not still be possible. For a guy who won a unanimous MVP, the Steph Curry I'm currently watching might actually be better? What the hell. I've seen this version of Steph a few times, most recently when he was ripping my heart out and shoving it down my throat in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, and when he gets like this there's legitimately nothing you can do. It's the most unstoppable force in basketball, and I'm not even joking. If you press too far up, he dribbles by you. If you give him an inch of space, it's a three in your eyeball. Good luck not getting tired while chasing him through 10,000 screens on every single possession, because as soon as he has you on his hip you've already lost.

It's truly remarkable to watch.

50/8/6 on 20-38 (7-18) with only 1 TO in 38 minutes, we just witnessed one of the best individual playoff performances in the history of the NBA. A true masterclass in every sense of the word. Maybe this lessens the sting for Kings fans because when Steph goes nuclear like this there's not a team on the planet that can stop it. You just have to tip your cap and enjoy the show.

Performances like this are why as long as the Warriors are still alive, you have to give them the benefit of the doubt. It's why when you have your chances to bury them, you HAVE to do it. Losing Game 3 & 4 in GS, then dropping Game 5 at home, the Kings certainly had their chances to put the nail in the coffin. This is yet another year where the Warriors showed the world why you can't fuck around. You give them life, they are going to bury you.

That sound you just heard was Adam Silver and the league cumming themselves because now we get a Steph vs LeBron 2nd round. As fun as the Kings are, deep down you know the league preferred this outcome. This has me in a bit of a personal pickle as to who to root for, but that's a me problem. I'm just hoping for another long competitive series with a bunch of drama and high stakes basketball. If it's anything like GS/SAC was, we should be in store for a ton of fun.

But let this be a warning to not just the rest of the West, but the rest of the NBA. Steph Curry is still alive and better than ever, and that could mean trouble for everyone else.
