Some Anonymous Losers In The NFL Are Terrified The Giants Finally Have Some Wide Receivers, Keep Trying To Shit Talk Jalin Hyatt

[The Athletic] - Executive’s take: Hyatt was the Giants’ most polarizing pick. His production last season is undeniable, but there are questions about how that will translate to the NFL. There also questions about how he’ll handle the transition to the NFL.

“Talented athlete, obviously elite speed,” the executive said. “Questions are going to be the strength, and the kid is interesting. He’s just young, little squirrelly, maybe a little naïve. I don’t know if he totally gets it as far as being a pro.”

“He was a one-year producer for a reason,” the executive said. “He struggled to make an impact until this last season.”

“He’s got some arrogance to him, like ‘I’ve got all the answers,’” the coach said.

Oh look what we have here. The Giants finally have some wide receivers and the rest of the NFL starts looking like Ernie from Billy Madison on a field trip. Some of these quotes are fucking hilarious just because you're itching to talk shit about a pick you don't like or maybe a team you don't like. We obviously don't know where these quotes are from because all Duggan says is he spoke to an executive and assistant coach from other teams about them. 

I do laugh at the 'he was a one-year producer for a reason.' Uhh welcome to college sports dummy. I'm not one to defend Tennessee, in fact I feel gross doing so, but look at the offense Hyatt was in for the first two seasons. It wasn't like Tennessee was firing on all cylinders here. Hyatt also isn't some like 23-year old senior who broke out in his fifth year. He broke out as a 21-year old junior. Plenty of room to keep growing and adding to your game. 

You know what I like? A wide receiver who has arrogance to him. Name a great wide receiver that isn't arrogant. I'll wait. Seriously, go ahead and name one. It's likely the 2nd most common trait to be a great wide receiver directly behind 'be really good at catching the ball.'

The truth is no one expects Hyatt to be a All-NFL receiver or anything like that. He just needs to be solid. He's not a number 1. He's a guy who helps fill out the receiving group the way Kafka/Daboll like it. I'm just going to go with anonymous assistant coaches are scared the Giants finally have someone to throw the ball to besides Lawrence Cager.
