Tough Week For 1975 Frontman Matty Healy: Verbally Destroyed By Noel Gallagher, Then Dumped By Taylor Swift

Billboard - Noel Gallagher didn’t have any nice things to say about The 1975 recently, after Matty Healy suggested Noel and estranged brother Liam owe it to Oasis fans to get over their “mard” and reunite. Noel still doesn’t have any nice things to say.

“He needs to go over how shit his band is and split up,” Gallagher — who just released Council Skies, his latest album with High Flying Birds — had snapped back at Healy’s comment in May.

Now, in a new interview with NME, Gallagher was asked whether he feels Oasis continues to influence contemporary bands today. The topic detoured into him talking about the state of rock … and The 1975.

“Oasis’ influence, I think, was for people to fucking start a band in the first place. I do meet loads of guys who say that and that’s great. There are a lot of them around, it’s just a pity guitar music has become marginalized. You’ve either got to be rock, or that fucking 1975. At the BRITs, The 1975 won Best Rock or some fucking shit,” Gallagher is quoted as saying in the piece published Saturday (June 3).

“I was watching it with my kids, two teenage lads, thinking, ‘Is it me being a grumpy old man, or is this s—?’” he recalled. “They were both going, ‘Oh no, this is fucking shit’. The 1975, Best Rock Band? Someone needs to re-define that immediately, because that is… I don’t know what that is, but it’s certainly not fucking rock. Whatever rock is, that’s not it.”

Man oh man. Further proof that no good deed goes unpunished. A few months ago there was Matty,  ̶s̶u̶c̶k̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶d̶i̶c̶k̶ ̶ singing the praises of Noel, Liam, and their band Oasis- a band that had a monstrous impact on him and his band The 1975, as musicians. Saying they need to get their shit together and reunite, here's the clip - 

I don't care what your opinion is on the Gallagher boys and Oasis. If you don't think somebody publicly pleaing for you to reunite and responding with a call for them to "break up" is funny, you have a giant dump in your pants.

That was Noel's original response a few weeks ago. 

Then NME (somehow) landed him for an interview about his band High Flying Birds' new album, and got him to double down on his hatred of Healy (video and excerpt up top.)

If getting bodied by one of your lifelong idols, and greatest musicians alive wasn't enough, Healy also got D-U-M-P-E-D by Taylor Swift over the weekend according to all the gossip rags.

TMZ - Taylor Swift and Matty Healy are shaking it off when it comes to their relationship -- the singers have broken up … TMZ has learned.

According to a friend close to the situation … Taylor is in fact "single" again, although it's still unclear exactly why they've now split up.

It was a pretty whirlwind romance … just last month Matty popped up at all 3 of Tay Tay's Nashville concerts, right on the heels of news she and Joe Alwyn had split after 6 years together.

Nothing screams "America's Sweetheart shouldn't be dating me" quite like kissing another man on stage in front of thousands of people and cameras to shoot the images all around the world.

And even though I had a theory that I'm pretty certain was the case with Taylor's mild infatuation with Healy, I was a fan of the guy, and his music.

I reserve the right to change my mind, but also stand by things I said when I said them. And I've been on Healy's dick probably more than Taylor has this past year. Can't lie.

Now in my defense, I only knew Healy was slightly a weirdo piece of shit, and loved the band because of its music. After learning more about the guy, and watching him steal my girl, and hearing the lead singer/songwriter of my favorite band trash him to high heavens, that's all changed obviously.

A lot came out about Healy the past two months, and none of it was great - 

My theory is that Swift has been with nothing but narcissistic, "boring", and selfish lovers. She's never been with an actual guy who knows how to please a woman. Yah I'm looking at that virgin Jonas brother. And those heartthrobs John Mayer and Jake Gyllenhall. Tell me I'm wrong. 

Healy on the other hand is a freak show. Guys into shit we've probably never even heard of. I'm talking way beyond that tantric stuff Sting is into. Point in case making out with the male security guard at his show. He's into weird shit. He probably knows how to get girls off just by rubbing the palm of their hand the right way. Obviously Taylor was going to be hooked on this guy like a drug and fall hard for him. Girl's been deprived her whole life, finally gets to experience an orgasm and her whole mind is blown.

I really hope for her sake she learns how to be single for a while and doesn't run into some other loser's arms. There really is no rush for her. Keep stacking that paper. Keep writing hits. Keep building the legions of fans. 

As for Healy. I try not to wish bad things on anybody, but how do you come back from the week he's had? I honestly don't know if you can. Losing Swift is bad. A whammy and a half for sure.

But something tells me he knew that wasn't going to last, and that he'll be just fine in that department. 

As for coming back from getting eviscerated by Noel? I don't know how that's possible as a musician. Being told you "are shit", your band "is shit", and you aren't "rock and roll" and "need to break up" is pretty much a fatality of all fatalities. And it's not like this was me and White Sox Dave talking shit on our podcast either. This is Noel fucking Gallagher.
