I Tried To Tell You About The Cincinnati Reds, Who Are Taking The World By Storm And Are Now In First Place

I tried…. I tried to tell you how much fun this team was going to be. I tried to tell you this division is wide open. I tried to tell you a 5 game lead was absolutely nothing and The Cincinnati Reds were going to be a team to watch.

I said that on June 7th. Since then the Reds have won 11 of their 13 games, including 10 straight with a sweep over the Royals, and the Astros and are on the verge of sweeping The Rockies today. Those 17-1 odds have now dropped to +275 and the Reds are now in first place in the NL Central.

Again, if you haven't followed them the highlights are electric.

You have to give credit to India, De La Cruz, Steer and Diaz as they are all playing terrific, but a tip of the cap is deserved by GM Nick Krall for the absolute fleecing of Minnesota last year to assemble this team.

What a fleecing ! I could spend hours looking at deals in MLB and what prospects people got for what, and how they ended up turning out. Either way, The Cincinnati Reds are now must watch television, and the most fun team going. And this is all without a MASSIVE prospect down in AAA, Christian Encarnacion-Strand (CES). In 49 games, he's got 17 homers, 47 RBI's while hitting for a .345 average. He's going to be an absolute star. And unless you are built of stone and no emotions, how can you not root for a guy like Joey Votto who may get one more run at the playoffs.

Baseball is supposed to be fun , and stories throughout the season pop up and make you interested in players and teams you didn't see coming, There's a bunch of fun stories right now in baseball that are fun. The Marlins, Corbin Carroll, the Rangers even without DeGrom. But for my money none are as fun as The Cincinnati Reds. You may have missed the boat on the 17-1 but if you love good baseball, hop on the Reds train because it's the best thing going right now.
