The Conspiracy Grows: Victor Wembanyama Apparently Filmed A Video Before The Lottery Claiming He Knew The Spurs Would Get The No. 1 Pick
Oh fuck yeah. Nothing gets me going like a little sports conspiracy theory and we got one right in our laps in the NBA again. The moment the Spurs won the NBA Draft Lottery last month, we started hearing all the 'of course it was the Spurs' they always get the dominant big man pick. Shit, you even had this:
Forget the small market, if France is a Spurs fan, you want the guy on the Spurs. It's that simple. But now over the weekend we have Wemby doing his press conference and admitting he has a video that will come out at some point where he says he knew the Spurs were going to get the number 1 pick. Fine. Things like that happens from time to time. But the line 'it wasn't a feeling, it was a certainty.'
That right there is something that makes you say hmm. Especially when you have these sort of conspiracy theories in the same sport:
I also love the idea of Boris Diaw running the NBA. I won't let a simple guess ruin a good story. Not when we're talking about the NBA Draft, no way. Plus, the NBA is a business. They should be rigging shit when we're talking about a guy like Wembanyama, it's what Stern would do.
