This Mets Fan Watching Their Epic Meltdown Behind Home Plate Knows That Frank Was Right The Whole Time
Time.
It's the currency of life. Time is free, but it's priceless. It's the only thing that you can't buy more of, so you need to make sure you spend it wisely. And the moment that Jeff Brigham hit Trea Turner for the Phillies to score their 4th run of the 8th inning after just 1 hit and 5 walks, this fella realized he was done wasting his time watching the Mets.
You could tell that man was ready to go well before Turner even got up to the plate. He probably said to himself, "if these sorry sacks of shit walk in another run, I'm out of here". And the low and behold, the Mets pitching staff manages to hit two batter in a row to blow a 6-3 lead in the bottom of the 8th. He knew he didn't need to stick around for the 9th inning to see if maybe they could redeem themselves. He's seen this movie before. He knows that this Mets organization is a bunch of pathetic losers. He knows that all along, Frank has been right. He was always right, and he'll always continue to be right.
But while Frank was right, the Mets are so wrong for this one. Because they robbed us all of anudder episode of Tank Cooks.
I've watched every single episode of Tank Cooks. It's without a doubt some of my favorite content the internet has to offer. So as much as I'm happy about the Phillies pulling out that win yesterday, I'm devastated at the cost of it.
Sidenote: The biggest thing to come out of yesterday's win for the Phillies is that the "suck it" chop from Alvarado down by 3 goes down in a winning effort. This certainly would have been thrown back in the Phillies' faces for the rest of eternity if they still lost that game.
