Texas Football Fans Must Think They're Back As They Just Sold Out 68,000 Season Tickets, Which Is The Most In School History

Yaaaawn. 8-4 and I'll take my $5 ticket on GameTime in November with promo code "Not Back".

But in all honesty, I do understand why Texas fans are excited about this season. It's not just Quinn Ewers and a glimpse of Arch Manning behind center, but more importantly that in the last decade plus of Texas football, the Longhorns best record was 10-4. They'll PROBABLY match that this year, and then they won't sniff anything close for another ten years, at least. Because if you've been mediocre in the Big 12, I got bad news for what happens when you move to the SEC with the big boys.

Giphy Images.

Seriously, Texas' last 12 year records go:

2010: 5-7

2011: 8-5

2012: 9-4

2013: 8-5

2014: 6-7

2015: 5-7

2016: 5-7

2017: 7-6

2018: 10-4!!!!!

2019: 8-5

2020: 7-3 (covid)

2021: 5-7

2022: 8-5

Zero conference titles. And that was all with playing Iowa State and Baylor every other week. What's their game plan when they add Georgia, Texas A&M, and Florida in 2024? Oh, and they still have Oklahoma. Oh, and they go to Michigan in the non-conference. Oh, and one of their "easy" games is Deion and Colorado.

We're not in Kansas anymore, Texas. Even the bottom dwellers of the SEC got your number.

Is Texas really about to go 4-8 their first year in the SEC? Now I see why everyone wants to see them this year.
