Today I Learned That The X Games Has Never Drug Tested Any Of Its Athletes
I saw this on the most reputable source on the interweb (Reddit) today and I'm not sure why I'm surprised but I am. Maybe the risk involved and potential for abuse is inherently less in some X Games sports like motocross, but it does seem like PEDs could give you an advantage in something like snowboarding or skiing? Then again, let's not think too deep, this is the X Games so drugs could just be encouraged. Imagine reverse drug testing? Sorry bro, you tested negative for marijuana, you're ineligible for today's Skateboard Street event. Can you do any of this without being on drugs:
I always wondered what happened to the X Games. Being a kid in the late 90's and early 2000's, the X Games were appointment viewing and felt like one of the biggest sporting events in the country. Is it just that extreme sports like skateboarding and being cool were synonymous back then? Apparently there's big debate between the X Games and the Olympic Committee because it's basically a feeder system these days now that the Olympics have adopted a lot of X Games sports. How lame would the X Games be if it were only athletes who could pass a drug test?
I think I've found the solution to restore it to prominence. The X Enhanced Games. A true Olympics alternative with not only no drug testing, but drug supplement! Let's see how far the human body can go! That content would be a pure electric factory. I had to do a little bit of research for this blog and figured I may not be the first one with this idea, and of course SNL had me beat:
Back when SNL was good. Simpler times. But I'm all in on the all drug Olympics and X Games, if you're reading this, let's get back to the glory days.
