The Padres Are The Walking Dead, The Phils Are Becoming A Wagon, And George Springer Seems Due To Go Yard

It's time to start a new journey. I've been gambling for a minute and I'll be the first to tell you I'm not very good at it. I feel like I should be, at least in baseball. I follow the sport religiously, and I do my research. I'm obsessive about the numbers, so I feel like I should at least be passable. It drives me nuts that I lose bets. So fuck it, we're going clean slate and turning this shit into content. I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL GAMBLER, but dammit, I'm going to try to turn myself into one. So starting now, I'm putting out three picks a day, and you lovely people can follow me on this journey as I try to figure out what I'm doing. Let's roll

Reds ML (+118) against the Padres

Sometimes I pay insane attention to the numbers, and sometimes I go with my gut. This is a gut pick. The San Diego Padres are a corpse of a baseball team. They came into the year with World Series aspirations, and now there is legitimate talk of them selling at the trade deadline. The Reds pitching staff is a disaster, but the Padres seem to be finding new ways to lose every night. I think they do that again this evening.

Phillies -1.5 (+110) against the Nationals

This is a chalky pick, but +110 for a team that should be a heavy favorite is pretty good. The Phillies are 18-7 in the month of June, and they've won 4 in a row, including a recent sweep of the Cubs in Wrigley Field. The Nationals are yet to announce their starter for tonight's game. I expect the Phillies offense to feast on him regardless of who that may be.

George Springer to homer (+575)

I usually do one home run prop a night. There's always value in home run props, the same way there's always money in the banana stand. Springer is having one of the weakest seasons of his career (He currently has a .749 OPS), but he's been red hot over the last five games, slugging .684. He's 8-33 lifetime against James Paxton with three home runs.
