There's Delusion And Then There's Dwight Howard Claiming He Was Better Than Nikola Jokic

[Source] - "Because I'm getting old," Dwight Howard says on fans forgetting his prime. "But I know that in my prime. it's a wrap. It's a wrap... I'm Dwight Howard. I know what I've done in this league... all-time centers, I'm top 10."

Dwight is putting himself amongst the greats and rightfully so but while people were quick to crown Nikola Jokic as a top center to ever play the game, Dwight made his case on why his prime is still better than the Jokic's prime.

"Obviously, people going to say Jokic can score. He got all those offensive skills," Howard says. "But at the same time, I was getting 38 and 20, 45-18, 19, 20, and I'm doing all this with twos. No threes, all twos. I'm doing this with lobs. I'm not getting a lot of post-up attempts like Jokic. He's getting way more opportunities."

There are very few guys in the NBA who have ruined their actual ability because they refuse to shut the fuck up. That's Dwight Howard. Dwight Howard was a damn good player in his prime, great even. You're just flat out wrong if you argue against that. But, come on dude. You're not better than Jokic. You're maybe a top-10 center and that's a strong maybe: 

Shaq, Hakeem, Russell, Wilt, Jokic, Moses Malone, David Robinson and Patrick Ewing are for sure all better. That leaves 2 spots for guys like Dwight, Bill Walton, Embiid, etc. Think that's fair? 

But it's not about arguing top-10. It's about the fact Dwight Howard just needs to shut the fuck up. Saying you're better than Nikola Jokic is like saying I'm taller or balder than Large. It's like saying you have a better golf swing than Trent. It's like saying I'm richer than Francis or better at dating than the Mean Girls. It just doesn't happen. 

Nikola Jokic is unlike any other player we've ever seen in the NBA. He's got some old school Sabonis and Divac with the passing from the top of the key. He's got some Walton in his game. He's got this mix that you can't stop and we've never seen. So, yeah, he's better than Dwight.
