Another Day, Another Brawl On An Airplane...This Time Over A Window Seat
NY Post- Two passengers were captured in a shocking video swinging at each other on a Ryanair flight after one allegedly refused to let the other get to his window seat.
The fisticuffs erupted on the July 3 flight from Malta to London Stansted, according to Newsflare.
”The shorter guy on the left is American and had the window seat. The taller man on the right with a cap on is British and had the aisle seat,” passenger Neil Modwhadia, who recorded the fight, told the outlet.
“The British man wouldn’t let the American man pass through to get to his window seat and then some words and swears were exchanged before a scuffle broke,” he said.
Flight attendants and fellow passengers quickly intervened and separated the two combatants.
“We’ll never get home,” one person is heard saying during the fracas.
In a statement, Ryanair said: “Two passengers on this flight from Malta to Stansted (3 July) became disruptive ahead of take-off. Cabin crew diffused the situation before the aircraft departed safely for Stansted following a minor delay.”
Modwhadia said the flight was actually delayed by two hours, leaving everyone “annoyed.”
Just another day in the pleasant skies ... "today we will be cruising at 30,000 feet, there's soft drinks for free with light snacks, the life vests are under your seat and at some point there will be a brawl in coach."
It's amazing just how insane airports and planes can really be. It's like packing all the wackos in the world in a terminal and watching a reality show (save your jokes about me being a wacko). Everyone seems to be tense, everyone seems to be on edge, everyone's pissed. It's chaos. I never feel fully comfortable flying until I'm in the Uber on the way home and away from this shit all together.
I have to weigh in here on this specific fight and the elements that led to it. I have been known to be a grump in the air, and make faces at the people sitting middle or window who get up and make me either wake up from a sleep, or scooch into the aisle with no space.
Have I given a dirty look? Absolutely. Have I mumbled under my breath? Sure. But even as the biggest grump out there, planes have rules and you have to obey them. You cannot refuse to let a guy get back in his window seat. That's just chaos, and lawless behavior. It's like a 4 year old refusing to get up from the Supermarket floor after not getting cookies. The guy in the window seat is completely in the right here.
Also the dope not letting him through caused a big hubhub, probably woke people up ... asshole move. Can't be doing that. Gotta obey the rules of the sky.
