Drake Fears He's Been in a Coma Ever Since His Degrassi Audition and Has Been Playing Out His Ideal Life Scenario in His Head

Instagram - "I go back to this day when I was like 13 or 14. I had an audition for a TV show that ultimately shaped my life [Degrassi] and before my audition, I went to this kid’s house and I, out of, I guess, a desire to be accepted, I would succumb to peer pressure, and I got high with these kids right before my audition. And I kind of wonder, like, maybe I’m still high. Maybe I’m in some coma and this is just, like, me playing out my ideal life. And that concept has stuck with me for a lot of years. I mean, it feels like reality, it feels tangible, but I definitely wonder sometimes."

When Drake says "I got high", what drug do we think he's talking about? It has to be weed right? When people say "I got high" without specifying the drug, I think it's usually weed. Context clues are important I guess. Like, if I were in West Virginia and a dirty woman weighing all of 75 pounds came up to me and said, "I got high", I'd assume she's talkin' meth. If the person's on that one street in Philadelphia where everybody is slumped over standing at a 90 degree angle, I'm assuming heroin. At a Grateful Dead concert, I'm assuming they're on a combination of acid, mushrooms, and balloon. When Future says it, I suppose I think of lean. But in Drake's case, I'm going to go with the devil's lettuce.

So if we're assuming it's weed, I'm gonna go ahead and say I think Drake's in the clear. Nobody goes into the sickest, most fun coma of all-time because they hit the bong too hard. If he'd just inhaled a shit load of DMT, and managed to cross-over into another realm, then when he came back "Drake" happened. Yeah maybe. But weed? Shut up, Drake.

However, I will say, in Drake's defense, his life has gone a little too perfectly. The chain of events since Drake got his role in Degrassi has been about as close to an "ideal life scenario" as you can ask for. Starring on Degrassi for 7 years, then getting put on by Lil Wayne, the most famous musical artist alive at the time, who helped jumpstart Drake's music career to the tune of 7 platinum albums and 12 Billboard #1 hits. That's about as good as it gets. If I were him, I might start looking around and think to myself, "This can't be real right?". I mean, he genuinely couldn't drop a non-number 1 album if he tried. He could put out an album of continuous fart noises and his fans would eat it up (i.e. Certified Lover Boy).

Was that the only time Drake has smoked weed maybe? I guess if that was literally the only time he smoked, then every decision he's made since then has made him millions upon millions of dollars? I might be wondering the same thing.

Hypothetically, if this was a real thing that happened to people, I think you'd have to sign up for it right? If you told me right now that I could go into a 50 year coma, but in my mind I would be living an ultra-realistic fantasy life where time moved at normal speed and I got to experience everything as if it was really happening, I'd have to say yes. That sounds incredible. I think that's literally what heaven is. Not that I'm anything less than satisfied with my current life, but if you told me I could enter a simulation where I lived a Drake-equivalent lifestyle? I don't think I could turn it down.
