'Ocean Avenue' Is Officially The Song Of The Summer For The 20th Year In A Row

Yellowcard's ALL TIME classic pop-punk album, 'Ocean Avenue', is currently celebrating its 20 year anniversary (feel old yet?) - and the band is outta retirement and back on tour because of it!

Not only are they just 'back on tour', either - they're on the biggest tour of their lives right now....

I interviewed Yellowcard frontman Ryan Key this week, and according to him - when the band went on their "Final Tour" in 2016-17, they were struggling to sell out venues that rarely had a capacity of over two thousand people. Meanwhile, on their current '20 Years of Ocean Avenue' reunion tour, they are regularly selling anywhere from five or six thousand tickets, and playing venues they never even could've imagined.

Key can't explain the band's extreme rise in popularity in the time they spent retired, and candidly tells me he doesn't even know how long it's going to last, but he and the band are so grateful and soaking it up while they can. I can't remember the last time I interviewed somebody in such a great mood.

Ryan Key is also a MASSIVE Star Wars fan, who hosts his own Star Wars podcast called "Thank The Maker", so we had to touch on that as well….

….but most of the interview was spent talking Yellowcard, and if you're a fan (or ever were a fan), I would definitely recommend checking it out! Ryan was so cool, down to earth, and willing to discuss anything; and he gave some really thoughtful answers to the questions I asked.

While you're at it, toss on 'Ocean Avenue' and enjoy one of the best front-to-back pop punk albums ever written….
