There Is Reportedly A 0% Chance That Donovan Mitchell Resigns With The Cavs
Well, fuck.
Congratulations, Knicks fans. They wanted like 50 first rounders for him, and you're going to get him for free in two years. But that's only if we're taking this report as a fact, and that we're disgregarding the other reports that have been coming out as recently as this month that he's extremely happy in Cleveland...
That he recruited free agents to Cleveland....
And that there's no real concern about him wanting to leave…
Listen, I'll be the first to say that if I had an opportunity to play in any city in this great country, Cleveland wouldn't be in the Top 5. Probably sitting at like #7. But one thing that should be factored into the equation is that the Cavs young core is as good as any team in the league, if not the best. I don't think it's fair to say Donovan Mitchell has made up his mind completely either way right now. If he is 100% gone? Yes, I'd look into trading him at some point. Don't let him turn us into the Utah Jazz. But if it's anything less than that, then Koby Altman and the Cavs need to continue to build around him and make a run at the championship, showing him that he can win one here. I would imagine that actually making it past the 1st round this year would go a long way in showing that….
