A Vegan Influencer Just Literally Starved Herself to Death on the Raw Food Diet She Was Promoting

You may not think there's a Food War going on, but I do. And it's being fought on many fronts. On the one extreme, you've got big  conglomerates pushing a agenda of "food neutrality" (meaning junk food) and "eating without guilt," which is essentially pro-obesity. On the other extreme, you've got multinational organizations promoting doing away with beef and replacing it with crickets:

And this is a war I've been happy to fight. Always on the side of a healthy, balanced diet, fit for omnivorous humans who were granted dominion over the animals by God Himself in the first few words of the Old Testament. Which means I'm proud to take on vegetarian extremists and militant vegans whenever they try to interfere with our basic nutritional needs. And to stand beside anyone who finds themselves on the front line of this epic battle.

Like this culinary genius, for example:

But none of this is to suggest I want their to be actual casualties in the Food War. This struggle is a philosophical one. It's a battle of ideas. And when one side or the other loses one, it's a tragedy. Which is why I have nothing but sympathy for poor, misguided vegan influencer Zhanna D'Art. Cut down in the prime of her life by her own tragic decisions:

Source - Vegan influencer Zhanna Samsonova has reportedly “died of starvation” after subsisting exclusively on a diet of exotic fruit in Malaysia, according to her friends and family.

She was 39.

The Russian national — who frequently promoted raw foods on social media where she was known to her millions of viewers on TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram as Zhanna D’Art — reportedly died July 21 after finally seeking medical treatment during a tour in Southeast Asia, according to local media outlet reports.

“A few months ago, in Sri Lanka, she already looked exhausted, with swollen legs oozing lymph,” one unidentified friend told Newsflash. “They sent her home to seek treatment. However, she ran away again. When I saw her in Phuket, I was horrified.” …

[A] friend claimed that for the last seven years, Samsonova had only eaten the giant, sweet jackfruit and durian, a spiky, mace-like fruit known for its custardy meat and noxious odor. …

“Zhanna’s idle stagnation was causing her to melt before our eyes, but she believed everything was fine,” theorized another. “Only her eyes, merry eyes, and gorgeous hair compensated for the dreadful sight of a body tortured by idiocy. Forgive me if it sounds harsh.”

Zhanna was considered an influencer? Great. Let her cautionary tale be the thing that influences her millions of followers. Man cannot live by bread alone; nor can he survive on giant, sweet jackfruit and spiky fruits known for their custardy meat and noxious odor. Good as that sounds. Our ancestors clawed their way to the top of the food chain not just by gathering, but also hunting. Then by domesticating their prey to make the process of harvesting it easier. Eating nothing but jackfruit and durian might sound like a great moral stand in theory. But the morality of it is little comfort when you're dealing with swollen legs, oozing lymph, and most importantly, starvation.

So let her example serve as a lesson to us all. Eat healthy. And that means reasonable portions of a variety of foods. Not the least of which is the flesh of various delicious animals. As the great Ron Swanson once said when presented a salad, "There's been a mistake. You've brought me the food my food eats.":

So with all the respect in the world, rest in peace, Zhanna D'Art. May you enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet at the big Rustler Steak House in the sky.
