SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (AP News) — A woman in suburban Detroit said she got a scare when she discovered a live frog in a container of spinach purchased from a grocery store.

Amber Worrick of Southfield said she bought the sealed Earthbound Farm spinach package earlier this week from a Meijer store, WJBK-TV reported. When she got home, her daughter found a live frog in the container and screamed, Worrick said.

“It was alive and moving,” Worrick said. “Just thank God I didn’t eat the frog.”

Worrick said she immediately returned the package and the frog to the store. Workers there released the frog and gave her a refund, she said.

The TV station’s video showed the frog in a sealed container.

For years all I heard was spinach this and spinach that. It's healthy, it's good for you, even the lunatics who try to tell me it's tastes good …. fuck that. It looks and tastes like wet socks. Look at the consistency of it. Grotesque. Fuck that. I've avoided spinach my entire life. In the rare occurrences if it comes on a plate at a restaurant I take it off and put in on a separate plate. The knife I used to get it off the original plate I will never use. If it touched a piece of my steak I cut that piece off and that's discarded. Get that shit away from me. I once grabbed a maître d' at a wedding with a $20 and faked an allergy to spinach so it wouldn't be on the plate. Absolutely zero interest in having the worst food in the world anywhere near me and have no shame in playing dirty to achieve that.

The real part of this story like with any one of these over the years is how the hell does something get into a container like this in a factory that is supposed to be clean and sanitary ? There's all sorts of health and safety guidelines in restaurants and food warehouses that if a cook sneezes anywhere you lose a letter. So anytime I read this I always wonder how the fuck a frog made it's way into a can of spinach ? I think it has to be that these robot employees on the assembly line are so afraid to disrupt the process that when a freak accident occurs like this and a screw falls in tuna, or a fingernail in olives, or a frog in spinach that they just look to the left and right and if no one saw it, they seal that shit up and just hope it never comes back to bite them in the ass. Lunacy behavior but that's how it works with assembly lines, be a robot and shut up.

Final thought … spinach is gross. If I didn't already say that.
