Kyrie Irving Has Now Entered The Chat And Weighed In On The James Harden/Daryl Morey Drama

The biggest story at the moment in the NBA is clearly James Harden making it crystal clear how much he now hates Daryl Morey, and for those of us on the outside, all we're left to do is speculate as to what exactly happened. Harden says he lied and wants nothing to do with him or the Sixers, Morey came back and basically called his bluff in typical Morey fashion

the whole thing is a giant clusterfuck with no real solution in sight.

If there's one guy who may have an idea of what's actually going on and how these situations work, it might just be Kyrie Irving of all people. Even he couldn't resist weighing in on this whole thing

Call me crazy, but that sounds to me like someone who might have an idea of what's going on behind the scenes. As a player who also has some trade demand history, my guess is Kyrie knows how these things work. Given his relationship with Harden, I don't think it's a stretch to think that Kyrie has an idea of the details that the rest of us are just speculating about. Was Harden promised a long term deal when he took a paycut? Was he promised that he would be traded if he picked up his player option, thus preventing the Sixers from losing that asset for nothing? Given how Kyrie is tweeting there, I don't think it's crazy to suggest either of those options might be on the table.

We also have to remember Morey's own history with this sutff. This is certainly not the first time reports like this have surfaced. Remember the whole Chris Paul saga back in 2019?

Paul was pretty damn open about how he felt Morey stabbed him in the back and basically lied to his face about being traded. Fast forward to 2023, is it crazy to assume something similar isn't going on with Harden? Remember, Morey was very public when he declared there was no way he was trading CP3 and that he was going to be a Rocket, only to then immediately trade him two seconds later. At the time, Morey said he wouldn't even field calls on Paul, which obviously was not the case.

Even if you think this Harden stuff gets sorted out over the next few months before the season starts, it's also fair to wonder what this means for the Sixers as a whole moving forward. Sure they have all this cap space entering next summer, but players talk to each other. You could make the case this whole ordeal could have longer implications than just this season, especially when the entire franchise is on the clock to maximize Embiid's prime. If this turns out to be a disaster and the Sixers struggle to bring in additional high level talent next summer, what happens then?

Something tells me we may just be at the tip of the iceberg with this whole thing.
