The PLL Championship Is Here And The Waterdogs Are Looking To Be Very Good Repeat Boys

Great moments are born from great opportunity. That's what the Waterdogs have here this weekend, boys. That's what they've earned here.

There are plenty of teams out there who haven't even won a single championship, let alone had the opportunity to go out there and win 2 in a row. But that's what the Waterdogs have on tap for Sunday afternoon at 3pm in Philly as they take on the Archers in the 2023 PLL Championship. They won their first title last year after taking down the Chaos in the final game of the year. And if the other two previous games between the Waterdogs and Archers taught us anything, it's that Sunday's matchup is going to be a battle.

They've played each other twice before this year, and they split the season series at 1-1. Each game was a 1-goal game. Archers won the first matchup of the season 19-18 in week 6. Then they played again in the final week of the regular season with the Waterdogs pulling off a wild comeback in the final minutes of the game to win 14-13. Granted, the Archers had already locked up the 1-seed in the playoffs at that point and had their backup in net. But still. Waterdogs and Archers have treated us to a couple of insanely good games already this season, and it only makes sense that we get one last look at them to close out the year.

Sunday. 3pm. Waterdogs vs Archers. Subaru Park in Philly, broadcasted on ABC. It is going to be a motion picture. Waterdogs -1.5 (+125) is the way.

Sidenote: If you're in the Philly area for the game this weekend (or just in the area in general), we'll be at the Barstool Sansom Street bar from 4-8pm on Saturday slinging some BBQ to get the championship festivities kicked off.
