Penn State At Ohio State Being A Noon Kickoff Is A Crime Against Humanity

Get the fuck outta here. I guess I should've known it was coming, but at the end of the day, I still like to think there's some good in the world. I was holding out hope, but Joel Klatt appears to have made it official: the biggest game thus far in the college football season is kicking off just after breakfast.

The way the rankings are currently constructed, this would be #4 vs. #6 matchup. Neither Ohio State nor Penn State would lose in the next few weeks if they played their opponents 100x each with their backups, so 4v6 is literally the WORST CASE scenario. I'm not putting it past dopey Georgia or Michigan, who have played no one on the year, to drop one at Auburn or at Nebraska though. Or maybe the voters will finally vote based on on-field performance THIS YEAR and move Ohio State into the #1 slot and Penn State to the Top 5 where they belong. Either way, this matchup will easily be the most hyped up game in the entire sport until The 11-0 vs. 11-0 Game comes around in November. And we have to set an alarm for it.

Listen, aside from the obvious #1 ranked pregame show that Barstool produces, I have Fox as the (distant) #2. I think the crew that Fox puts out there is much superior to ESPN, so I'm not here to knock on Fox. But what I am here to say is that Fox has completely ruined college football. It absolutely fucking sucks that they continue to take the biggest, most exciting games and schedule them before the sun comes up. Save this noon shit for the Iowas and Northwesterns and Notre Dames of the world. Penn State at Ohio State is big boy football and it should be time slotted as such.

And not to mention, what a nice break for Penn State. On the road in Columbus with a team that for the first time in a decade looks like it can actually compete with Ohio State, and we give them a breakfast game? Ohio Against The World like you read about....

Not making excuses but if this game gets played in the Shoe at 7:30 pm where it belongs, Ohio State runs away with it by halftime. Now I'm concerned we're going to have to play our starters into the 3rd quarter!!!
