Lou Holtz Dropped Ohio State 5 Spots In His Rankings After Their Bye Week

So here were Lou Holtz rankings the day after Ohio State beat Notre Dame at Notre Dame on the last play of the game in which everyone knew we were going to run it and we ran it right down their throats. Seems like a very reasonable set of rankings. Not bad for an old man who is off his rocker.

But here are Lou Holtz rankings this week:

He has Ohio State NINTH????

This is the type of shit that makes me question why we give everyone over 18 the right to vote. At some point we have to take old age or number of brain cells into account. Or clearly, in this case, grudges. If you polled 1,000,000 college football fans, not one of them would have Ohio State anywhere below #5 after their undefeated start and a Top 10 victory on the road. But old Holtzy got in his feels and dropped us 5 spots this week. Give me a fucking break. You can't even say they "looked bad" this week, because they didn't even play this week!! No, the only thing that happened between him ranking Ohio State #4 and him ranking Ohio State #9 was that Ryan Day rightfully called him out in one of the most beautiful and organic postgame speeches I've ever seen.

Still gives me chills. Well done, Coach.

Also, it must be submitted into the Psychiatric Ward evidence folder that he has USC 12th. I'm not saying USC's defense could stop a nosebleed, but you have to rank them in the Top 10. Undefeated with the returning Heisman winner? You just have to. And why is Notre Dame #10? Personally, I'm fine with that ranking. But if you use the fact that Ohio State is only #9, and they went to Notre Dame and beat them, then ND cannot be #10. Especially when, according to Holtz' rankings, 1-loss Alabama has a much better loss to #2 Texas. The old man just makes no sense and we continue to trot him out there on TV like he's a puppet. It's sad, really.

I know Michigan is rival #1, 2, and 3, but with how badly we've beaten the rest of the Big Ten like a drum lately, I'm really thinking about sliding this 86 year old dumbass into the #4 slot.
