"Not Sure We Can Call It A Crowd" - ESPN's Sean McDonough Joined In On The Fun Of Mocking The Rays' Fans Not Showing Up For The Postseason
The Rays entered today facing elimination and potentially losing their seventh consecutive postseason game. With the Twins getting their two decade long monkey off their back, it might be time to focus in on how often Tampa falls apart this time of the year.
Now you'd think after yesterday's embarrassment with the lack of fans in the stands that the nursing homes down there would mount up together and flood the Trop. I know driving on highways is scary, but you gotta do better than this.
Well, you'd be wrong.
And for anyone trying to give Tampa fans a pass because of the time? Just look at the crowd in Minnesota against Toronto today. It's electric. No excuse for less than 20k fans in attendance for a do or die game (today they hit 20k on the nose, congrats!). They won 99 games during the regular season! This is insane. The A's were drawing like 50,000+ a few years ago. What are we doing here?
With the Rays getting worked once again by Texas, a few of the lifeforms in actual attendance voiced their displeasure. ESPN's Sean McDonough joined in on the fun of mocking their situation.
Tremendous. Love seeing that asshole Kevin Cash with an egg on his face. What an insufferable motherfucker. Sure their roster has been leveled with injuries and a pedo-suspension, but for the last month or so they didn't miss a beat. It was infuriating to watch them still find ways to win games. Now the calendar's flipped to October and they've completely vanished. The Rangers pitching has completely blanked them while the Texas bats have done what they do best, mash. The result has been a total boat race.
Move this team to Nashville and blow up the Trop.
P.S. Feel like this series is the first time I'm hearing Sean McDonough on the call for baseball and I don't hate it. Better than hearing Kay.
