Our American Soccer Nightmare Is Over: Gregg Berhalter Finally Decided To Talk To Gio Reyna, Bringing Him Back To Team USA

There it is. We have two friendlies against Germany and Ghana this month and one notable name on that roster. Gio Reyna. It's well-documented the history between Reyna and Berhalter:

Let's get right to the point here, both sides suck. The Reyna's acted like crybabies and Berhalter simply is not the manager who can get the USA to where we need to be. His decision making is questionable at best. It's one of those weird stories where both sides just suck. But at the same time, Gio, when healthy is arguably the best player on Team USA. If not best player at least most talented or highest ceiling, however you want to describe it.

Not only did Berhalter finally bring Gio back, he even talked to him!

I can't believe that's a real statement, but it's where we are with this fucking guy. The fact a Zoom call happened is massive news for a team with expectations. We even had Matt Turner talk about the situation and while it sounded like he's hiding some details he at least gives some insight to it all:

I'd prefer people not want to play for Berhalter anymore, because I still don't know how he's the current manager outside of his brother. That's still our true nightmare, but at least we woke up and have Gio wearing the red, white and blue. Just get him healthy, get him out of Dortmund so he can some minutes again and let's get this thing rolling. We have Copa America coming up and that's an event we have to show up for. That'll give us at least some momentum into the World Cup.

Side note, can we get Clint as manager? I love this lunatic.

Plus he's an elite rapper, if you know, you know. Just give us a squad that can get past the Round of 16. It's time for us to start winning.
