Chicago Bears Legend Dick Butkus Has Passed Away At 80 Years Old

Everybody knows nationally that the '85 Bears get their very fair share of love in this town, but what some may not know is how much the older generation absolutely adored Dick Butkus first. As my statement above says he was everyone's Dad's favorite Bear. The twinkle of adoration and almost fear in their eye when they'd talk about him really made sure that guys like me who were born decades after Dick played really understand what he meant to the game of football and the Chicago Bears.

A guy who built the foundation of what wearing that Chicago Bears C on their helmet really stood for and what made our beloved Bears a household name when you think about defense.
