Gregg Berhalter Is Still Ruining Soccer For The Entire Country, Needs To Be Fired In Order To Give Us Any Chance Of Success

I'm not exactly breaking news here by saying Gregg Berhalter stinks, but after sleeping on it and watching the match against Germany what else do you expect? Look at those records and well, that's what you're judged on right? Berhalter has done enough to have defenders and proclaim he's just fine. But he's doing it against Mexico and no one else. He's not beating or getting results against the countries that we need to in order to show we can actually have success in this sport.

And look, Berhalter made the right starting XI against Germany. That's a step in the right direction. But how long has he been around? We can't be talking about simple things like playing your best players and going nuts for it. They still lost 3-1. Yes, no Tyler Adams and that's a major problem, but at some point you gotta get results against these teams who we will see in the 2026 World Cup.

It's why it made no sense to bring him back. You had the chance to move on, find a new voice, find a better manager and someone who can get this group past the Round of 16 and you just went back to the safe play. We're not longer in the phase of getting out of group stage being a success. There are real expectations to make a run in the 2026 World Cup and even next year's Copa America. You're simply wasting time if you think Gregg can do that.

Berhalter was fine in terms of getting these dual-nationals to play for the USA. We have a talented group, that's just a fact. But what he's not doing is getting results and getting out-classes in big time matches. How many times do we need to lose to a top-20 country or to a European country before we stop accepting it? It's not the 1990s. It's not some up and coming team anymore. This is a group playing at the highest level overseas and all in their primes.

We have Ghana tomorrow. If you don't win that match, on US soil, how do you feel strongly to keep this guy? It's impossible at this point. I don't care if it's friendlies it's still results. Go get a manager that can win big matches that don't include playing Mexico. We've already proved we're better than them. It's time to start showing up against real teams.
