Watching Steph Curry Explode And Completely Take Over A Game By Himself Is Still One Of The Best Things To Watch In All Of Sports

Part of the fun of watching professional sports is you get to see the best of the best at their craft do their thing. It doesn't really matter what sport you may be watching, there's just nothing quite like watching the greats be great. It also doesn't matter how many times you've seen it, when you're watching a generational talent unleash hell on their opponent, it's must watch stuff every single time. It can happen in the preseason, regular season, postseason, it doesn't matter.

Stars doing star level shit will always be cool to see.

Enter Steph Curry.

Entering Year 15 and his age 35 season, to this day the man continues to be must watch TV when he starts to cook. Late night Steph antics are why we all lost a shit ton of sleep during that first wave of Warriors dominance. As a basketball fan, you couldn't go to sleep during his MVP years because you just knew it was only a matter of time before he went nuclear.

Well fast forwad to 2023 it that still remains true, even in a preseason game. What Steph did to comeback against the Kings last night was not only vintage Steph, it was a reminder that this type of shit is about to be back in our lives again on a nightly basis

Look at that crowd! Look at that reaction! Is this a preseason game or another playoff series between these two teams? Who gives a shit that this was a fake game, that was electric as hell and I'm not even a Warriors fan. I've certainly experienced watching this level of Steph against my favorite team (sigh), and as a fan, it is so goddamn deflating. There's nothing you can do and everyone knows it. It doesn't matter if you get into his air space, it doesn't matter if you guard him 40 ft from the rim, it's all useless once Steph reaches this NBA Jam level of fire. All that's left is praying and that almost never works.

30 points in 31 minutes, 8-12 from deep, a 40 burger as a team in the 4th quarter for the Warriors to cap off the comeback, and a perfect 4-0 record this preseason. Of all the hype being given to all these other teams in the West, let's not forget this very important detail.

Steph Curry still exists.

As long as that's the case, the Warriors need to be taken seriously. Who knows, this could be the last hoorah for this core if Klay Thompson doesn't end up signing an extension, and the good news for Warriors fans is that it certainly does not look like Steph is slowing down even in the slightest. You could have told me that was the unanimous MVP from 2015 and I'd believe you. Nobody in the league puts asses in seats like a red hot Steph Curry, and my gut says that's going to continue in 2023-24.

Oh, and we should also mention that it looks extremely likely that Jonathan Kuminga is about to take the patented Year 3 leap. He's been pretty damn awesome this preseason too.

But Steph man, yeah. Still pretty good!
