MLB Has SUSPENDED Astros Pitcher Bryan Abreu For Two Games Following Yesterday's Incident Against The Rangers

I'm kind of surprised, though, I feel like I shouldn't be. For anyone who isn't caught up, yesterday's Astros/ Rangers game was an all-time postseason classic, largely because of the benches-clearing altercation between the two teams. Bryan Abreu did not take kindly to Adolis García pimping his home run, and on the next at-bat for Garcia, Abreu threw right at him.

I had a lot of Astros fans in my mentions who were really peeved when I said yesterday that I thought Abreu threw at Garcia on purpose. I still think he did. It was 99 up and in. I understand that it put another runner on base, but Abreu was pissed off. And now he's suspended.

We can spend all the time we want talking about whether this is right, but the fact is, it is a huge suspension for the series. The Astros will be without their best reliever for the remainder of the ALCS. The Astros bullpen is still pretty solid, but Abreu has been a cheat code who has been fucking electric in October over the last two years. He's probably a top-five reliever in the entire sport right now. This has already been a darn juicy ALCS and it got a heck of a lot juicier.

UPDATE- Abreu does plan on appealing the suspension. This will likely mean the suspension could get pushed until next season, if not the World Series. Could be a huge break for Houston.
